Principal’s Message
Welcome to Gayton Elementary! Our school community is an extended family of over 600 hard-working students, a dynamic faculty and staff, and a highly supportive PTA. Our students are creatively engaged with the curriculum, the real world, and their classmates. Our parents and teachers are partners in developing compassionate and contributing students. Thank you for your support as we focus further together on rigor, relevance, relationships, student leadership, and deeper learning.
I am excited about all that is in store for Gayton families in 2024-2025. For more information, my weekly newsletter is hosted here on Smore. It provides important updates, events, and links relevant to our school community. These include our PTA website and our Gayton Facebook Page.
Should you have any questions or concerns, or if you are considering moving to our school community, please do not hesitate to call me or our associate principal, Mrs. Carey Reeves, at 804-360-0820. Our continued goal at Gayton is to consistently connect with parents so we can support and empower every student, every day.
Sincerely,
Kirk Eggleston, Ed.D., Principal
School Mission
Gayton Elementary is a caring learning community and school family. Safety, kindness, respect, love, and inclusion are at the core of what we do. We are partners in creating and maintaining a learning environment that fosters good citizenship, integrity, problem solving, creative thinking, and real-world connections.
School Vision
100% of Gayton Elementary students will gain one or more grade levels per year in reading and math proficiency.
All Gayton Elementary students will demonstrate success socially, emotionally, and academically with learning that is active, hands-on, interdisciplinary, life-ready, collaborative, character building, inclusive, and independently mastered.
All Gayton Elementary educators will plan and facilitate engaging instruction, make real-world and interdisciplinary connections, provide regular feedback and assessment, differentiate for individual needs, model respect and kindness, partner with parents, and hold high expectations for every student.
School Pledge
